Taxi overturns injuring eight children in Hillcrest

Eight children have been yesterday afternoon when the taxi they were travelling in overturned and rolled down an embankment on Fischer Road near Hillcrest, KwaZulu Natal.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the taxi lying on its roof at the bottom of a small embankment. Several children were found walking around on the scene.

Paramedics assessed the children and found that eight of them had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported on the scene.

The children were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to St Marys Hospital for further treatment.

The driver apparently lost control of the vehicle causing it to overturn.

The driver of the vehicle was apparently not found on the scene.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
