Pedestrian airlifted after collision, Kingsway

A man in his 20s was left critically injured this morning after he was hit by a light motor vehicle on the N12 near the Kingsway Road in Kingsway, east of Johannesburg.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the man lying in the emergency lane of the road.

The patient was assessed and found to be in a critical condition, having sustained numerous injuries.

Paramedics immediately began their treatment and provided the man with advanced life support interventions.

Once treated, the patient was airlifted by the ER24 helicopter to Johannesburg General Hospital for urgent treatment.

The driver of the vehicle fortunately did not sustain any injuries.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
