Man shot in attempted home invasion in Westville

A man believed to be in his seventies had sustained two gun shot wounds to his lower body after an apparent attempted home invasion around 2am in Protea Place in Westville North.

Rescue Care Paramedics arrived to find the man seriously injured. Advanced Life Support Paramedics worked to stabilise the man on the scene before rushing him through to a nearby hospital for the urgent care he required. He had sustained two gunshot wounds to his lower body.

At this stage the events leading up to the shooting are unknown however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
