A motorcyclist in his 20s was critically injured when he fell off his motorbike on De Waal Drive in Cape Town on Sunday afternoon, Western Cape paramedics said.
ER24 paramedics, along with Life Healthcare and Metro Services, arrived on the scene and found the man lying in the middle of the road just a few feet away from his motorbike, ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring said.
Paramedics assessed the man, finding he had sustained numerous injuries leaving him in a critical condition. He was treated for his injuries and provided with numerous advanced life support interventions in an effort to stabilise his vital signs.
Once treated, the man was transported to Groote Schuur Hospital for urgent treatment. The cause of the accident was unknown, Meiring said.
