Two girls, aged 14 and 16, were injured this evening when a metered taxi and light motor vehicle collided on the Slangspruit Road in Pietermaritzburg.

ER24 paramedics were dispatched to the scene at approximately 17h40.

Upon closer inspection, paramedics found both of the vehicles on the side of the road. Two patients that had been traveling in the metered taxi were found on the opposite side of the road.
Paramedics assessed both patients and found that they had sustained minor injuries. The girls were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to Edendale Hospital for further treatment.

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
