Bakkie and car collide head-on leaving three injured in Three Rivers

Three people were left injured this afternoon when a light motor vehicle and bakkie collided head-on at the Dee and Genral Hertzog Road in Three Rivers.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the two vehicles in the left-hand lane of the road. An elderly woman was found seated inside the light motor vehicle while several men from the bakkie were found walking around on the scene.

Paramedics assessed the patients and found that two men from the bakkie as well as the elderly woman had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. The other men that had been on the back of the bakkie fortunately escaped injury.

Paramedics treated the patients and thereafter transported them to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
