Allegedly Drunk Woman Crashes Vehicle outside schools in Verulam

A 42 year old drunk driver knocked into a vehicle outside two schools on Robin Street in Dawncrest – Verulam.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called to the scene by onlookers who witnessed the incident. Upon arrival it was established that a Toyota Corolla knocked into a stationary Toyota Verso. Reaction Officers interviewed the woman who reeked of alcohol and was unstable on her feet. She confirmed that she had been partying with friends and consuming alcohol since this morning.

She left her home in Mountview to pick up her 12 year old son from school when she collided into another parent’s vehicle. Witnesses informed Officers that they noticed the Toyota Corolla swerving as it approached the school. It could not be confirmed if the front tyre on the Toyota Corolla was damaged in the collision or of she had knocked into a pavement while she was on her way to the school. Police were called to the scene however the driver of the Toyota Verso declined to register a criminal case against the mother of two after she agreed to pay for damages caused to his vehicle.
